Eric Vs. Vince lead to The Death Of WCW.

I read the Death of WCW and I'd say the biggest part was Time Warner cancelling all the WCW shows leaving them with no TV deal. The confusing storylines were bad enough, especially the way they did Bret Hart and their up-and-coming talent, and that whole fingerpoke of doom episode of Nitro where Tony Jabroni said Mick Foley would win the title (I switched the channel too, haha).

nWo was one of the greatest ideas in wrestling history, but there was a whole lot of nothing after that. Kwewee? Seven? MIA? GI Bro? Master P? WTF? The biggest names had too much control which lead to that horrible Bash at the Beach 2000 where Hogan 'won' the belt from Jeff Jarrett & ended up suing them. They wasted money, talent, & ideas. The worst part was that it the end, Vince won and took potentially the greatest lineup of stars and had the ridiculous Invasion where the owners of ECW & WCW are McMahons. Talk about an ego trip. What made the nWo great was the mystery surrounding Hall & Nash and having people think they were from the WWF and were trying to take over. If Vince would've let his ego go and done something like that - having the WCW guys as main eventers trying to take over the WWF, I seriously think that could've went on for years.

If you want the real truth here it is,
Bischoff got a little too competitive with his "88 week" ratings streak... Russo stopped writing full scripts and just focused solely on the main eventers to much.
But on top of all that, in the late years of WCW they merged with Warner Brothers who didn't have nor want a place for a wrestling show which limited media and finances for them.
So it really was an amalgamation of these things that put the nails in the coffin of WCW.
(also many superstars were beginning to leave)

Most what all your Answerer's are stating!
Hogan lost C.C only at the end of NwOs run, Blame Bishoff, Hall and Nash!

Then Vince made the WWE Raunchy and won the Fans, to get back he acquired and dissolved the WCW!

Suspensions; think about how you tell your spouse, No Pay for Thirty days and if Vince gets mad or, same thing happens Sixty days, Third time fired, Wellness Policy has no long term Disability and job security's Mute {since Andre' Vince has discarded away former wrestlers like yesterdays trash!}
Wrestlers have lost what little faith they had in Vince!

Without Steroids injurys increase, heal-time increases, weight-room time increases, old-school Wrestling without Steroids cannot exist! The Genitic Jackhammer cannot exist!

Wrestling is recreating and will remain on TV as long as TVs exist!
Vince is one of the Three all time greatest,and he Deleated one of the Three all time greatest {click to my resolved questions if you must wonder why!}

So as not to confuse my answerers, Vince Wrestles hardcore, he created and developed the Wrestling that is Genetic Jackhammer style Wrestling! Also; the worst thing ever to happen in Wrestling, to Fans and to Wrestlers!

Compitition, Compitition, Compition is needed, Help us Brett, Hogan!

By the way; I enjoy all good Wrestling and some of the Drama! Any country; just ban the unshelded face kicks, Ring steps held face high and run into faces, and sledgehammers to the back!

EDIT:
Gary Vs right on!
flipper & agrim; The stun gun {cattle Prod} used by Hall to put down Goldberg is where I lost interest, not new Talent of Wrestlers Push/ not pushed!
Jack's right!
Daves top halfs right but Tna's fine! {No more Steroids will effect all Wrestling!}
scouse? I've been part blaming Bishoff, I will check on me! right about Russo, also I recall Hogan lost C. C. again I will check on me!
spawn's right!
the kjor??? Not even!
Reject; Around the "88 week" timeframe things changed for the Wrestlers, some for the better, better benefits, pay, insurance's and WB was not good for Wrestling Industry!
DaBadGuy; Yea Vince got them cheep, cheep, cheep by waiting! Ted Turner went family frendly and Vince went Raunchy!
Edit; right on Don!

Nobody ever picks up on this but the failure of WCW can be traced all the way to Crockett promotions purchasing the UWF. Crockett could have easily waited a few months and picked up anting they wanted for next to nothing,as Bill Watts was ready to fold the UWF. Purchasing the UWF saddled Crockett Promotions with the UWF's commitments and debts. That led to Crockett selling to Turner due to financial hardship. This eventually led to the Time Warner/AOL merger with Turner communications. That led to the downfall of WCW, without Ted Turner's direct support (he always had a soft spot for professional wrestling back from his days when he first purchased his television station.) At this point Turner's Standards and Practices forced WCW to changed their programming towards a more family friendly standpoint. It definitely didn't help that Nash, Hall and Hogan were out only for themselves.

The short answer is Eric Bischoff tried to out-McMahon Vince McMahon by trying to put the WWF out of business. He took a good idea (the nWo) and just crammed it down our throats (and skewed everything in the nWo's favor) until everybody got so sick of it they stopped watching the TV shows and going to live shows. He had a handful of big names (Hogan, Nash, Hall, Scott Steiner) that he poured money at and catered to, and either screwed over or ignored everybody else (including Ric Flair and Eddie Guerrero). The head storyline writer (Vince Russo) was as big a "star" and got as much TV time and storyline involvement as any wrestler. Bischoff wasn't about putting on a good wrestling show, he wanted to put Vince McMahon out of business. He failed miserably.

2000 killed WcW they pushed people like Scott steiner, kevin nash, and jeff jarrett people who shouldnt have been getting a push. they didnt push young talent and vince russo was so arrogant that he gave himself the title and he did so by defeating the only guy who actually deserved the push he was getting at the time booker t. not only that but almost all of the matches didnt deliver. people got tired of watching it so WcW made the correct decision of giving up and selling the company. also on a side note to tell u how screwed up they were look at there last show. the most important match of the night was....... the opener??

The biggest problem with WCW was that, for the most part, Kevin Nash was booking the matches. As soon as you let a wrestler book matches (or worse yet, his wife), favoritism will over take the whole company.

You can't blame Bischoff, when he left WCW was still afloat. You can't blame Russo because he should never have been in the position.

You can't blame Hogan, they should never have given him creative control.

In the end they ran out of fresh ideas, they didn't elevate young stars, and they wound up turning fans off with stupid storylines where Hollywood B list celebrities won the title.

The problem was upper management. The people above Bischoff had no idea what they were doing. WCW was better when it was ran by Jim Crockett.
