Can't help you out if that's all the further it goes. What are we supposed to solve for?
Added: Hope I've got this all right... f(g(3.4))...okay, first solve for g(3.4). g(x) is the inverse of f(x), so g(3.4)=(9-3(3.4^2)-2(3.4))/(sqrt(3.4^4+3)) = (9-3(11.56)-6.8)/(sqrt(133.63+3)) = (9-34.68-6.8)/(sqrt(136.63) = -32.48/11.69 = approx. -2.78
Now we need to find f(-2.78)
=(sqrt(-2.78^4+3))/(9-3(-2.78^2)-2(-2.78) = (sqrt(59.73+3))/(9-23.19+5.56) = (sqrt(62.73))/-8.63 = 7.92/-8.63= approx. -0.92
If I've got this all right, your answer is about -0.92. Of course, that may be a bit off, depending on how many digits one decides to round each decimal to, throughout the problem.
Added: Those who claim f(g(x)) is equal to x are mistaken. (Though it's temptingly simple, isn't it?) That's when you multiply inverses, not take one function of another which is the inverse of that function. Shall I prove it? Let's look at a simpler problem.
f(x) = x^2
g(x) = 1/x^2
Now let's find f(g(2)). If the others are correct, f(g(2)) should equal 2.
g(2) = 1/2^2 = 1/4
f(1/4) = (1/4)^2 = 1/16
Clearly, the principle being proposed does not hold up. At all.

if f(x) and g(x) are inverses, then that means f(g(x)) will get you the value of x - in your case, that's 3.4.
instead of all those complicated equations, think of it this way:
if f(x) and g(x) are inverses of each other, then it's analogous to having .25x and 4x. no matter what you do to x and in whatever order, the effects of the equations cancel each other out, and you'll have your original value again. hope this clears stuff up! :-)

f [g(x)] = x
or
g [f(x)] = x
so f [g(3.4)] = 3.4 <== answer
