In the Nagpur match against Australia, Uttahpa displayed nerves of steel by smashing around 44 runs in just 28 deliveries. If every Indian batsman plays like this, India would easily defeat Australia even if it is to chase 400. Don't you feel he was sent too late to bat? Shouldn't he be sent to open instead of Ganguly, because Ganguly's strike rate is slow even if Ganguly's score is big? That way in the final overs, the required run rate wouldn't balloon.

I fully agree with you about the talent of Robin Uthappa. Since he is so young, he can be an asset to Indian Cricket in the years to come. He is bound to open for India in ODI after the retirement of Sachin and Gaugully as since they are the most successful opening pair for India, they should continue to open as long as they are in the team. Uthappa should be promoted to bat at no. 3.

While chasing he is best at the end No 5 or 6.While batting first we can have him earlier depending on the situation.

the best quality he has is his 'fearless nature'...He doesnt bother abt the superiority of the bowlers who bowls against him...Just smash with fabulous running steps!!!! Hats of Uthappa
