It depends on your definition of success. If the point of capitalism is to be able to stack the deck in favor of corporations against the majority of workers, and relatively few become obscenely rich while many are a paycheck away from being homeless, then it is a roaring success. There are too many poor and struggling middle class people in this country for it to be a matter of laziness preventing success and stability.

capitalism on it's own has already failed...

there is not ONE purely capitalistic nation out there that's in the industrialized world...

every nation is some mix of socialism and capitalism (welfare programs, workers rights programs, anti-trust laws, ect.), which seems to be necessary to function at a high level as a society...

anyone who thinks either capitalism or communism can succeed on their own isn't really paying attention to what has been working in the real world for the past 50 years...

Capitalism is when the buying and selling of goods and services is under private rather than Government control.

Capitalism succeeds because it is Darwinistically correct.

Private corporations evolve because they must adapt to competition and the market.

Government corporations are insulated from the market & consequently are not driven to effeciency.

E.g. A private investment firm run like Social Security would be incapable of drawing investors, and the fund managers would most likley be doing prison terms by now.

Its failing because its a fake game of monopoly that is manipulated and eventually crashes due to greed.

Bartering is far better.

Those that claim capitalism is failing are wrong. they are just upset that they don't work smart/hard enough to not be poor.
