...and since there may be more than one I'm looking for something relatively current- I know I hear the tune on a regular basis.

I don't know which TV show actually uses that song but I do know that it was recorded by Mason Williams, who was a comedy writer for "The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour" in the late 1960s and for "Saturday Night Live" in 1980. He played on a 12-string guitar.

I think it's 'The Story of Us' starred by Michelle Pfeiffer and Bruce Willis.

Many, many local news shows used this in the 1970s. You can find their openings from that era (usually in poor condition) on YouTube. I am not aware of any current show that uses it.
