Any opinion can be debated for the correct answer. You could argue that the death penalty makes our nation so great. For being a response to best country? What makes a country the best? Literacy? Health care? Certainly not. America is a calaboration of ideas and cultures exercising democracy and capitalism. Embrassing self-expression is the most beautiful thing.

A great and beautiful country with countless attractions and different climates suited for all types. However, it has become somewhat of a police state with people getting arrested for the smallest things. We are losing our freedoms by the second. Unfortunately only 17% of Americans have passports - so the majority doesn't travel resulting in a very ignorant opinion on their country and matters of the world. I'm an American who loves it here - but not politically. We are no longer a free nation and are being watched by our government with tactics that can only be compared to the former KGB of the Soviet Union. Our government knows EVERYTHING about us - from our incomes to where we keep our money to our spending habits. Our fellow citizens have succumb to religious fanaticism and excessive patriotism. Bottom line... if more of us would get out and travel the world and the corrupt politicians with their "special interests" groups who fund their reelections would disappear then things would definitely improve. Also, our police force is violent. We see incidents on TV every day! I myself have been stopped on two separate occasions by cops - sticking their hands in my pockets to see what I have in them! Our BIG GOVERNMENT is also a problem and it can only be compared to organized crime. We all need to vote Libertarian! (not to be confused with liberals) Aren't you guys tired of the same old nonsense and lies told to us by the Republicans and Democrats???? So why do we always elect them???? How about some change for the better????
