In terms of one's own self, yes. I've lost two wonderful, loving grandparents to that damned disease, Alzheimers. It is absolutely heartbreaking to see someone who you've known and loved be taken little by little, bit by bit each day, until all that's left is their physical body. Their minds are no longer there...they can't remember anyone, they can't remember how to do even the simplest of things....And so, yes, people do in fact fade away, and they don't have to die to do it.

People do not fade away...in our life we may encounter people who are expendable they are easily forgotten but they do not fade away. Then there are others who no matter how much you try cannot be forgotten or removed, they always remain.

Depends on the impact they had on you. I'll never forget the name of the girl I had a severe crush on in 5th grade (Keri Griffith). But for the life of me I can't remember the name of the girl I was intimate with.

some do....I have this one friend I haven't seen her in forever and she doesn't call anymore and I don't have time to call her and it's like she did fade away...
