Just like we don't recognize that the American Indian didn't give up the land so it is "officially" ours, white people developed plantations and infrastructure in south africa and believed it was theirs and not the blacks. They, however, did not prevail. Originally
called afrikanners, they did build the country but no longer have the powerr they once had. They still can hold office and share jobs with the natives but they will never own the land or be in power again.

If you knew a bit of history you would not need to ask this question. South Africa is much like the Southern USA in that it once had SLAVERY and in that there has historically been a lot of racism issues in both places. Black people are still considered to be SECOND CLASS citizens there. These white people have been in Africa now for a long time and they consider THEMSELVES to be AFFRICANS!!! I am not in agreement with all of this but it is historical fact.

Due to apartheid, rugby was generally seen as the sport of the rich white man, and was off limits to the other races, who took up football instead. So a lot of black players didn't really filter through, and are only really doing so now.

because black kids may not have gotten oppurtunity to learn the game.
most of the guys who play now grew up during the discrmination years when they had more oppurtunity than the black kids.
discrimination is way less now i guess
and south africa cricket team has native black players.

First, you are wrong because JP Pietersen was on the wing. And like everyone has said, you dont get selected for a team because of your skin colour, you get selected for skill.
