Yes, I would count it in the candidates favor, but then again I am an atheist. What bothers me is that statistically, Americans won't vote for an atheist, thus why atheists have to lie about their beliefs to get into office. It's ironic considering the founder fathers weren't really far off from atheism themselves (they were Deists, which only believed in God in the most abstract sense).

Americans probably wouldn't elect a jew, either. They're convinced this is a 'xtian' country.
But yes, I"d vote for an atheist long before I'd vote for Mitt Romney.

as long as s/he can get the job executed effectively and without own bias I haven't any situation with it. besides the shown fact that, i does no longer choose a militant atheist in place of work no extra advantageous than a extra radical religious person. i've got faith no count what the guy could shop their ideals own and do their job per its description no longer their ideals. i do no longer think of it could be too undesirable, as long as i do no longer ought to complication approximately them employing their religious perspectives/own ideology to make judgements approximately government i'm advantageous. As a Christian it bothers me while politicians try this, it turns the separation between church and state right into a mockery. If we don't choose the government to intervene with our church affairs we ought to continually no longer make judgements approximately state affairs employing our religious ideals. yet I digress, i genuinely in simple terms choose somebody who might prevail, beneficial, and do what's maximum suitable for anyone in contact. Their religious ideals or lack there of isn't an argument for me. Peace and advantages = )

Thomas Jefferson was an atheist, and one of the few quintessential Americans. Thank you for your ignorance and the 2 points.

I vote for the best person for the job. I don't care what a person believes as long as they are man/woman enough to stand by their convictions.

HaHaHahahahaha. How would you know? They will tell you anything to get your vote. And with our limited two party system, the candidate is supposed to reflect the views of his/her party, not their own. As if that meant anything. . .
