When you look at it, Australia came off a really long break to play the T20 World Cup, it was definitely not very good planning on the part of CA and ICC. I agree that India didn't always look like they should've won the T20 World Cup, but that's what T20's like, an over here or there will get someone a victory. Think of South Africa, they lost one match and that kicked them out, and if Misbah had played the same shot differently, they'd've been the champions. So, what I'm saying is pretty much what Ricky said when he came to India, the T20 win was great, but that is in the past. 50 over cricket is different, and it's quite obvious that the true cricket champions are definitely the Aussies. They're consistent and brilliant.

The hype that Indian cricket team is World Champion is created by the MEDIA & the cricket fans. But the facts is that Indian cricket team is not a consistent World champions. Once in a blue moon day the Indian cricket team is a World champion. You have to wait and watch for years for the next major championship victory.

Hey dude.
Every team wants to win world cups.
Every team can do it. It's all in their training and in their minds.
I reckon Zimbabwe could win it, but they haven't got the players(which is one thing) and haven't got training.
Heath Streak is a good player in good form-he is just not putting enough effort it.
Back to India.
India have been knocked out quite a few times in the past.
As they say: Every dog has his day.
This time India had it's day.
Now to ur question.
If you win a world cup it doesn't neccecarily mean "that ur the ultimate". It just means you've put in the hard work and made the effort and determination the win the World cup and lets face it, its a very good achievement in today's cricket.
India are not the ultimate. Australia aren't either.
So the blues haven't achieved and no-one ever will...well someone might in the future...buts lets not get too far.
Hope this answers ur question.

World champions means world class players who just dont
have talent but the ability to win matches for the team consistently.I think the Indian team just dont have them right now so its a distant dream for them to be called even a champion team.

I do not think that anybody except the media and blind supporters of indian cricket can boast India as No. 1 in the cricket, whereas in reality India is placed 3rd in test rankings and 6th in ODI rankings officially. It is too much to expect from such a team to win a series against Australia, who are rated no. 1 officially in test and odi.

Cricket is a game where the "Best" team on that particular day wins. India at that time was a team full of youngsters who were spirited to earn something for their country. They did their best and clinched the trophy! There should be no questions on this issue! It is sheer stupidity!

Ofcourse India have won the T20 cricket worldcup not entirely on their performance, sometimes people used to say 'Luck must favour u' that was happened to India and they used it well. So they won. But now things little bit changed, angry Aussies are revenging back for what we have done to them in T20.
Yes, it's true if we r the true champoins we have to beat the fellow Ausralians. So far the performance of India is entirely differnet from that.

No. They won the twenty20 world cup. They are entitled to call themselves world champions of T20. Australia won the ODI world cup, so they are the world champions of the 50 over version. As for test cricket, well, they don't have a world cup, you have to go on ICC rankings.........I wonder who that might be.........certainly not India............I suspect it might also be Australia.
