My parents were married for 33 years when my mom succumbed to liver cancer. Now 8 years later my father has been diagnosed with lung cancer stage 3b but he has stayed a widow.

NO , they divorced when I was 5 and while my dad dated other women and had 2 or more sister's for me I have not met , him and my mother were to in love to re-marry anyone else , my mother did get engaged twice to 2 freaks.
My father died 2 years ago and my mum hasnt gotten over it.She asked him to wake from his coma and promised to re-marry him , I think thats what he was waiting for he died peacefully 3 days later.

Parents married in June, 1956 and are still married to this day. So they've been married 51 years. Hope I get there some day, have celebrated my 23rd wedding anniversary.

Side note to Judith.... if your parents were married 58 years I wouldn't expect your mother to be remarried.... My god she must be about 80 or so.... hardly any surprise there
