If he goes to a urologist, to get the sperm count done, the cost is only about $200-$300. If he has insurance then the cost will be less than the microscope ($15-$20).
If you can't afford to go to a urologist how are you going to pay for a delivery room, natl care, diapers, baby formula, and so on? The cost of the sperm count is nothing compared to all that other stuff. It stands to reason that you can't afford to have a baby.

Can you post a link to the microscope? You can email it to me and I'll look at it for you. Do you have slides and the cover slip to use with it? Most likely, he does have swimmers, but it will be hard for an untrained eye to tell what might be wrong with them, or how many there should be. If all you want to know if he has any at all, you'll be able to do it as long as you can focus the microscope correctly, but for any more useful information, you'll need a specialist.
Sperm is visible at around 200x, but 400-750x is preferable, especially if you have no experience. You don't NEED any phase contrast even though it'd make it easier to see. The morphology is pretty distinct.

NO! You would have to have a stronger, microscope than that to magnify sperm and it would probably need contrast dye.
