"Princess" is a commercialized image of young and beautiful girls who marries their equally handsome young prince, while the image of a “Queen” was portrayed as an old woman (like a grandmother figure) in most Disney films and other cartoons. In numerous children cartoons, a Queen is usually old, evil and mean while a Princess is young, beautiful, innocent, very kind to others. Which is pretty obvious that the "princess" image appeals to the younger audiences more than the image of their grandmother or an evil person.

Disney.... they are all princesses throughout the movie and marketed as princesses.

Plus, in my generation, the only queen we really hear a lot about is Queen Elizabeth and she is sorta old lol, where as we hear a lot about Princess Di and she was young and hip and all that.

There are many little girl princesses, and not many little girl queens (Mary of Scots being the only child queen I can think of). Plus, queens have to rule their country-the appearance is that princesses are cosseted and spoiled. And really, who doesn't dream of being spoiled?

It's a natural progression ie from princess to Queen. Also, there may be other queens at the party and they may not accept an addition to their rank.

The word princess has attached to it images of youth, beauty, magic, prince charming... A queen meanwhile is grown, possibly old, and not carefree.

Probably because a queen is usually married, and to an old man...

A princess gets to be royalty, spoiled, and usually pretty.

I think it's because Princeses, are *most of the time spoiled, and treated nicely*

I never wanted to be a princes when I was little, I always wanted to be a karate kid, or a special agent, someone that would help people put away the bad guys...lol..

I was a *little girl, with big dreams* lol

Because princess can be a child, queen would have to be married.
