In both my bathroom sink and bathrrom shower the water goes down really slowly. It just happened and both at the same time. I have drains in them both and they are pulled up as high as they go but the water still goes down very slowly. I jus poured half a bottle of drano in one and the rest in the other and waited 8 hours like the bottle said but the water is STILL going down too slow!!! What do I need to do?

You may be in for a sewer back up. Call a plumber

So many drain questions here; I empathize.

I'm opposed to adding any more toxins to our environment but have a couple of suggestions.

Obviously a company like Roto Rooter can help.

You might have access to inline clean out plugs; either in the 2 inch or 4 inch drainage plumbing. If you can access the cleanout plug (A threaded insert cap often in a "Y" connection) you might try removing it with even a Crescent wrench to determine if a clog exists close by. Then from there you can snake the line in both directions; use a garden hose; and check the result. Certainly the bath sink and shower/tub drains are hair magnets; as well as collecting residues from soaps, shaving; facial masks; etc. While you're at it you can pull the "P" trap under the sink and check it; though back up to a tub will be farther out the line; and as cowboy suggests; might very well be at the junction plumbing for both fixtures.

How is the function of the toilet?

To start I would use a plunger on the shower. Fill the bottom of the shower with water till it covers the drain, put the plunger over the hole and press down. Now quickly pull up on the plunger. Do this 10-12 times, whatever it takes to loosen the gunk in the drain. You should be able to feel a good suction on the plunger as you pull up and start seeing bits of black stuff coming up. Keep it up till you don't see any more coming up. This may help your sink start draining better, if not do the same to it. Also under the sink there is a U shaped piece that you can remove and clean fairly easily to clean it out if necessary. This part will be full of water so have something under it as you take it apart.

If you have trees and large bushes around your house, it is likely that the roots have invaded or crushed your pipes. You will need to call in a plumber to verify. It is quite costly to have that problem fixed but if you are a do it yourselfer, once you find the section you can have the gas and electric companies come and mark their lines so you don't hit any, then dig up that section and lay some new line (make sure you lay an additional 2 feet in both directions to make sure it is well fitted in there). It took me and one helper to dig up 30 feet of line 1 whole afternoon and then the rest of the evening to lay the line. If you do not have an outside cleanout go ahead and install one now so plumber calls are a lot less costly when they don't have to remove the toilet or crawl up on the roof to run the cameras.

This isn't really helping, but I have the same problem with the bathroom sink. I've been pushing to get the stopper removed from the sink (it's really bad when you have soap suds or anything with it, it rarely goes down). So my advice is to get the pull up thing on your sink replaced with a regular drain. I'm not sure what you mean about the shower.

If these are both plugged then it's in the "Y" beyond the toilet drain and, that's next to back up. I suggest you call in Roter-Rooter or a plumber that can auger out the plug before it get's to be a real problem.
