In addition to ZapCity's response

If you can answer no to ALL the following questions, you are elgibile
- have you played 5 years of any NCAA/NAIA varsity sport?
- have you played Tier 1 Junior A hockey (aka Major Junior)?
- have you played in a professional league (NHL, WHA, AHL, IHL, ECHL, CHL, etc)?

If you answered NO to all of those questions, you are eligible to play NCAA hockey.

Just so you know, there are 27 players in the NCAA this year that are older than 25, including a 31 yr old freshman (after checking their database)

wow, this is a good question.. just wanted to say that.

I have spent the last 6 years doing engineering at the university of toledo and i gave up hockey to get my degree. I always dreamed about getting back into hockey and playing NCAA. this gives me hope!

Your eligibility clock begins ticking when you first enroll for college (5 years of eligibility with red shirt and injury petitions available to extend terms), not at any specific age.

So, unless you are returning at 25, meaning you enrolled and dropped out of college earlier in life, you have no eligibility issues to worry about.

Go to NCAAclearinghouse.net

This will answer all your questions about eligibilty.

The question will be if the coaches want you at 25.
