Sidney Crosby is #2
and for all those hyping up Ovechkin, the NHL scouts and GMs have him at 12th.

The best player right now in the NHL has to be Sidney Crosby. Not only is he a great player, he makes everyone around him better. For a 20 year-old "kid" to lead the league in scoring last year and to bring his team to the playoffs with a bunch of young players, he has to be considered the best player.

Those who said Sidney Crosby I dare you to make that decision on your own and not just repeat what the media feeds you. Crosby is NOT the best player. He is just touted as the best because of that is how the NHL wants to portray him. The NHL is in shambles now and they need the pretty young poster boy that is Crosby to attract newer and younger fan blood in. Anyone that has watched hockey the past couple of seasons can see that Malkin and Ovechkin has the obvious greater talent. Ovechkin having more talent than Malkin. So by default Ovechkin is the best player in the NHL.

Ovechkin to me is the best allround talent most ppl say sid the kid and while offence he is probly better when it comes to scoreing goals working the boreds forchecking Ovechkin is much better and he to this point has done it all alone as where sid has had a deacent team
