Congratulations Amanda for making good choices in your life instead of bad ones. It's great you can learn from others saving yourself the tragic lessons of "learning the hard way" don't be afraid of life, use this time to understand people and what really makes the world go 'round. You will find others like yourself as you get older so don't worry. You are normal.

It's ok there is nothing wrong with you...
you dont have to follow others if it don't help you, drink and drugs are nonsense it won't give you anything...
maybe you dont have close friend at school but you might still get good friends outside school... i'm sure that there are also people who have the same feeling like you did...
Me myself sometime I feel something like that, if I learned too much people will say that I'm boring, sucks or whatever
but if I do things they did hanging out and stuffs my parents or teacher will be upset...
then I remembered what my master Ernest Wong said
"Life is shaking, what must you do?"
and the answer is... " I balance my life"
so what did I become? I became both Soccer Team Captain and The President of Student Council, still with my good grades...
But there are still some people who are against me, but then I just say ""No Matter Everyone looks down at Me.. No Matter No One Understand Me... I'm at Least who I am...Coz who I am makes a difference..."
just do what you have to do... with No Fear and No Regret!

I'm 24 now, and the people at work make fun of me saying I'm a 60 year old in a 24 year old's body. I never drank or did drugs in school. I worked and took my job very seriously. Even now, I go out and drink sometimes, but nothing excessive, I don't quite understand the need to binge drink. I never really had a lot of friends either, especially in high school. Things did change a bit when I got to college, I found people similar to myself. You're probably just more mature than the people your age. There's nothing wrong with it. You'll probably fare better in life than some of your immature classmates, at least that's what I used to tell myself :-)

Though there is nothing really wrong with you but there are a few things which can make your life still better. You see, most of us know the missing or weak links in our life but fail to take any measures to either to correct them or cultivate some thing more in it.This happens primarily due to lethargy or a indifference and rarely in taking a false pride in our backwardness(whatever it may mean to each of us). What we need to think is as how to balance our life so that well-being content increases and we progressively and continuously live a better and better life.In your case, nobody would know better than you as what to do,hence no advice to you,Just rethink and take the steps to improve or enhance the quality of your life and well-being content in it,if you so desire.Good luck.

I don't know much about it, but there is a form of autism that makes people act like that. My 16 yea old cousin has it and has refered to everyone at school as worthless. You may want to look some stuff up about it. Sorry, I wasn't more help...

Maybe you have Asperger's Syndrome. I have that. Don't worry about it. It's within the range of normality, but it sure is makes people peculiar. We're all sort of like Mr. Spock on Star Trek.
Look at this:
