Yes, I actually have experienced a paranormal activity. I was 8 months pregnant with my daughter and it was the middle of the night and I woke up and I saw this figure standing at the end of my bed. I rubbed my eyes cuz at first I thought I was dreaming, and after I did that it was still there. The next thing I knew it had pointed at me, so then I freaked out and turned my light on and then it disappeared. The next day I told my mom about it and I told her what the "ghost" had looked liked and she showed me a really old picture of a boy who used to live in that house and sure enough it was the same boy I saw in my room!

I am rational, educated and intelligent. Despite a strong desire to see ghosts I have never been able to. Despite being misinformed from an early age that ghosts are real I have learned they aren't. I didn't allow my wishful thinking to cloud my perception of the world around me. I still have not seen a ghost or experienced any sort of paranormal phenomenon.
In my experience, education does seem to matter because superstition finds fertile ground in the uneducated or the unintelligent, but I have also seen plenty of otherwise intelligent people who believe in the paranormal due to a strong desire for the existence of such phenomena.
EDIT: President Carter claims to have seen something strange in the night sky, but has never claimed to have seen an alien spacecraft. I heard an interview in which he explicitly denied ever thinking what he saw was an extraterrestrial spacecraft.

I have seen many things... but you do not know whether or not I am a rational thinker, as you do not know me from Adam.
However, Abe Lincoln had a premonitory dream the night before he died, he told people and even wrote it down.
His wife and also George Washingtons' wife frequently consulted with psychics through out their life time as was fashionable and acceptable in their day.
And if I am not mistaken, Nixon, Jackie Gleason (and later on Gerald Ford) actually bought an observatory as they were big and true believers of UFO's. I gather that they thought they could prove soemthing in their life times. The time is drawing near that we will see UFO's ion such a scale there will not be any doubt and it will be common place knowledge.

Lots of rational people have seen things they couldn't explain. But that's nothing out of the ordinary. Sometimes it takes more than a quick glance or a glimpse in the dark to understand what you are looking at, and a rational person is likely to interpret their experience that way. And some people, who in all other respects seem rational, do think that they've seen a ghost. That doesn't make them irrational. It just makes them human. I think all of us harbor some irrational beliefs, some of us to more extent than others.

Most recent Presidents and first ladies have seen ghosts in the white house. Also congress is haunted by ghosts seen there all the time. Part of the staying in the Lincoln bedroom thing is hoping to see old Abe. Of course most politicians are wacko anyway, so thats not really a good example!

I haven't seen a ghost or an alien, but I have seen a UFO. The funny thing is that my brother saw the same one I did about a year after I saw mine. He gave the same description etc.. He spotted it in the same location I did and it was heading in the same direction. Since this is the case, most likely it travels the same location in the same direction regularly. Has any UFO reports claimed this type of clockwork travel before?
Description is a luminous oval sphere that was completely stationary for five seconds then slowly gained speed for another five seconds then all of a suddenly shot faster than a jet until it faded behind something. It almost looked like it went invisible, but I could tell it went behind something invisible like a cloud. Oddly, it was a clear cloudness night. Happened Christmas night 2001.
Government or alien.
Bet you don't know about what happened at the Chicago O'Hare airport.
The link below is a youtube UFO report at "Chicago O'Hare airport" that happened near the end of 2006 that was hushed. The description of the UFO given by pilots and people at the airport is about the same, oval sphere. Look up about the Chicago O'Hare airport UFO for transcripts etc..
Logically, it doesn't appear to be a top-secret military aircraft because the military would not test fly that type of craft near an airport due to exposure etc..
Edit:
Oh, I would like to at that I'm categorized as a rational thinker which rational thinkers only make up 5% of the populace or so. I've taken personality tests etc.. I got an offer from West Point because of the way I think, my leadership abilities, and since I'm the son of a father who was in the military. I turned them down.

I am rational, and educated, but why would that make a difference? I have seen a few ghosts in my lifetime. My favorite is my father.

I've seen a ghost once, when i was driving down a country side near a church graveyard. One other time, me and my buddies went camping and when everyone went to sleep, something huge fell from the tree above us and hit the ground and i hear human footsteps running toward our tent and it shook like crazy. Scared @ss 5hit. also seen a couple of ufo's. But don't be stupid and go looking for ghosts now.....don't mess with them.

I'm not sure a ghost as in a dead person's spirit. But I have seen balls of light that move through walls and are obviously under their own control. I also took a photo once where a person appeared that wasn't actually there. No aliens.
