Well, unfortunately in the games he started his +/- was (-35). He also had way too many turnovers in the neutral zone. I guess he needs to be sent down to the AHL to work on his scoring ability.

I have absolutely no idea how the system put this into hockey. Usually there's a same last or first name with a hockey player, but this is just plain weird. I don't know any Hockey players that have drew, rex, brees, grossman, manning or leftwich for last or first names. Sometimes it's a team's city that is similar, but jacksonville and san diego don't have NHL teams! This has got to be the least hockey-related question to ever wind up in the hockey section. I don't know any words relating to hockey in it. Maybe skills is the only word, lol.

btw, I'm not dissing you dude, I'm dissing the yahoo answers question placement system here. And to answer your question; I don't think he deserves all that criticism. The reason the Bears sucked so much early, is because their DEFENSE was playing bad. They got to the Superbowl last year riding their defense, so when it let them down, of course they were going to lose some. However I don't think grossman is that good, but then again, neither is griese.

Of course he deserves all of the criticism. He's a QB in the NFL, a former 1st round pick and a starting Super Bowl QB. It's been proven time and again that he cannot perform at a high level for a sustained period of time. He's been given chance after chance after chance after chance. People do work with this guy, they're called quarterback coaches.

In regard to Byron Leftwich, he's gone. Peyton Manning, it took him long enough but he WON a Super Bowl. He's always been a winner, going back to Tennessee. San Diego thought they could do better without Brees. Brees isn't doing so well in N.O. right now.

Rex deserves everything that is coming at him. You can't expect to win when you put your team in the same position week in and week out.

Regards,

Brandon

I think the difference is that those other teams aren't/weren't "there" in terms of winning the Superbowl. Chicago was, and many people feel that with an average quarterback they would have won the Superbowl. It takes a lot of different pieces to put together a top team, and Chicago feels like they had all of them except the quarterback. No one really cares about a bad or underperforming quarterback if the rest of the team is just as bad, he's getting the criticism because without him, Chicago may well have won the Superbowl and it is felt that he's a negative. He's kind of unlucky in that respect that he was made to "sink or swim" with a team that's already a contender. Compare him to Losman in Buffalo - J.P. isn't very good right now either, but no one expects Buffalo to even get to the postseason so it's no big deal if he loses/doesn't win a couple here or there.

Have you seen him play? I'm sure he's a good guy, but he's not a very good quarterback, at least not right now. As for Leftwich, he may not have been bashed in Jacksonville, but he was cut, so that has to tell you something. Here in Pittsburgh, a lot of people treat the starting QB like a red-headed step-child. We made Kordell Stewart cry a few years ago. Terry Bradshaw stayed away for a decade because of how he was treated. What I'm saying is it's not just Rex.

As a lifelong Bears fan, I can answer without hesitation that YES, Rex Grossman deserves all of the criticism he gets. The only one who may deserve it as much, is his coach Lovie Smith, who NEVER should have let Bad Rex (or Wrecks) play in the Super Bowl.

No, he doesn't deserve all the criticism. He's a borderline starting quarterback on a team that played over its head with the benefit of a weak schedule a year ago... Chicgo as a team is far more over rated than Rex Grossman.
