Romance needs a gestation period which has been shortened by technology and therefore many have become precocial. Romance does not taste as sweet as a naturally ripe mango would.

There is just as much romance these days as there ever was use to be all mariages where arranged (no romance there) and technology only gets in the way if you make let it you dont HAVE to use that email, send them a letter. and what is wrong with plains and cars and trains that is technology those things do nothing but help, imagine if your spouse had a buiseness trip to a different country they had to take and they had to make it in a wagon or on a sailship it might take them a month to get there and a month to get back compare that to a plain which takes a day.

Technology isnt the problem its the fact that nobody knows what romance is anymore, thats our fault. Dont blame technology

Yes and no.

In a way, yes. Technology has edged out handwriting, for example, which in the past had been the hallmark of expressing thoughts on paper in a very personal way between lovers. Sadly, this tradition seems to have disappeared into the sunset.

But no, technology did not kill romance altogether. On the contrary, it has brought people and especially lovers ever closer together. For one thing, email, cell phones, IM, etc. have replaced snail mail as a vehicle of message transmission as the world was transformed into a very small village. And it seems the words post office, long distance relationship, etc. will become archaic in dictionaries as we know them.

It is still out there but it wasn't technology that killed it. It just isn't being taught anymore. People aren't born with the knowledge of romance or the ability. They need to be taught and shown by example. My soul mate is VERY romantic as was his father and grandfather. He saw it modeled by the males in his family everyday as he grew up. In turn he modeled it for his sons as they grew. My sons are very romantic men and as a result were very successful in wooing their spouses when they decided that they were in love. After 30 years my soul mate still makes me feel weak in the knees. Now THAT is being romantic!!!!!!

Definitely. If you read Alvin Toffler's book, you will realize that the advancement of technology alienates man from himself. Man is experiencing culture shock. For example in building a car. Man cannot attain fulfillment because he is not able to build a whole car instead he is building only a piece of it. The division of labor alienates man from achieving that fulfillment.

Love just evolves with the technology. However you can always choose to ignore the technology as long as it is both of you choose to do that.

Technology has provide distractions, degraded pleasure, and diluted human interaction.

Hence, you could say that it has "killed" romance, but only to those who "love" technology.
