I am in the military and the only option for me at this time is online courses. I have narrowed it down to two differant univiersitys. I have been accepted to both however, I still cannot decide between Oklahoma U; BA in Liberal Studies with an empahis in Adminstrative leadership or Penn State World Campus BS in Organzational leadership. What do you guys think???

Kalos hasn't looked at where half the Admirals and Generals (let alone Sergeants Major and Master Chiefs) on active duty have their own degrees from.

If this is being paid for by Uncle Sam, I'd go with Penn State; better known and it has a major -- Liberal Arts is an ok major but not if you're wanting to use it for job finding.

Of course you can learn leadership theory in an online class. Why would you need to sit in a lecture hall with 100 other people and a grad assistant to discuss Maslow or Taylor? I suspect that, in the military, you'll have far more opportunity to apply what you learn than the frat boys and sorority girls who live at East Podunk State U. I get the feeling that Kalos doesn't think Organizational Leadership is a valid field of academic endeavor - oh well, most grad schools and more than a few journals disagree.

Definitely Penn State, a well-respected University. Plus the Organizational Leadership program is much more substantial than a Liberal Arts Degree.

I disagree with Kalos, anyone calling a Penn State degree nearly worthless is obviously clueless.

Well I would list all the benefits of both and than the cons, and decide what one would be better for my future, but I like the BS in Organzational Leadership.
