Two good answers already. EFW gives you a summary of HJ’s campaigns. Croatan211’s second link takes you to a lot of detail about HJ.
But, as an answer to your specific Question: -
1. HJ was not formed until late 1943, so obviously it could not be involved anywhere in 1941.
2. Most of HJ’s active service was on the Western Front in: (a) Normandy, June/July 1944, against the British and Canadians around Caen; and (b) Ardennes (Battle of the Bulge), winter 1944/45.
3. However, HJ did eventually transfer to the Eastern Front (or what was left of it by then) from February 1945. See the references in EFW’s list to Hungary.

No,the first answer is false.12 SS was formed in late 1943. and no way they were involved in any fighting before Normandy. However, what left of them was later transfered to the east, but not earlier than 1945. and the counterattack through Hungary and battle of Berlin were their last struggles.
