If you went to a ballroom dance club, what would you like to have in it? A restaurant (what kind of food?), bar, snack bar? If you took lessons, what would be the best time (days, time frame)? Any other suggestions?

What $ would you consider reasonable rates for lessons?

Either a large studio, perhaps with multiple dance floors, or a basketball gym. Space is good. Food doesn't matter to me, actually, I'd prefer to not have it there. Drinks like iced tea would be nice. Food inevitably gets on the dance floor thus ruining everyone's dance shoes. Best time is Thursday - Sunday from 7 pm to midnight, including the class(es). Price range really varies depending on the level/quality of instructions. $15 is the most I'd consider paying for a good group lesson. $8 is reasonable.

1 Large floor or several medium sized floors in different rooms. A bar that serves non-alcoholic drinks. You don't want drunk customers doing ballroom. Snack bar serve dry finger food that do not stain. You can't expect everyone to wash their hands before accepting a dance. Don't bother with a restaurant, that just takes up floor space that you can be using for dancing. Most people will eat something light before coming so you won't be making much on full course meals.

Lessons should be held before the social party dance, say between 7pm to 9pm. The social party should run from 9pm to midnight. Cost of lesson will be included with the social party at $10-$12 for the night. Friday and Saturday are the best nights. Sunday tends to be slow as people work on Mondays.

No restaurant needed. A bar with options for water, soda, alcohol would be nice. I think more people come to the lessons if you can have a beginner section separate from more advanced dancers. And it is always great to have a lesson for an hour first then a "party" afterwards with music so they can practice their new moves. I like it when it is $5 for the lesson. You are paying per person so it gets kinda pricey for a couple to pay more every week. Then you can charge $5 for the just the party or $8 for both.

I'd like a huge dance floor, a bar, and a snack bar. If I want a meal, I'll go to a restaurant. I like to go to lessons on Friday or Saturday night just before open dancing starts. Price? That'll vary depending on your location. I pay $9/hour for group tango lessons and a milonga in the Detroit area.

I don't think people who Ballroom dance generally eat or drink or are willing to pay for that. Plus there are lots of clubs already. USADance aka USABDA
7:30 for a 45 min lesson then open dancing till 10 or 11PM
