Gracious me! I would never have believed it. How does that fit with freedom?

I'm in London. Parents might well ask their teens to be in by a certain time. And the police might ask what you're up to if they think you look like you're up to no good, but we can go out when and where we like. What time kids come home is a family issue.

Well I must say I am utterly astounded. I never realised that at all. I really don't approve. I would not like my kids criminalised because they were about their legitimate business after a certain time and I can think of many an occasion when they were out quite late involved in their productive, creative, and useful lives. I would take a very dim view of the state telling me what my children could and could not do. But from the replies it appears most of you support it, that being the case... I concede you have the system that suits you.

I'm with you on this one. I quite agree that a curfew ought to be determined by the head(s) of the family in question. I live in Texas....I guess that's the sort of attitude that made us our own country at the beginning! lol! I've heard of some cities trying to enforce curfews. I think that is ridiculous. A suitable time for someone who is often in trouble is totally different from the time for someone who simply likes the night and doesn't participate in nefarious activies.

Anyway, I'm not some pouty little punk trying to complain about my curfew. I'm 19 years old and a sophomore in college. I have never had any sort of curfew, as I never behaved in a manner that would have made one necessary. I went where I said I was going, with the same people, and we did the same activities. I didn't need to lie, and I didn't want to. I always left a number I could be reached at any time, without my parents' prompting. Honestly, mischief was never on the schedule. We were just friends out having a good time. I was taught that honesty and reliability are qualities that are rewarded with the gain of privileges. Conversely, irresponsibility leads to loss of privileges.

The curfew is one-of-a-kind instances for a while as much as 18. If you continue to do not get it, get dressed like you've cash and stroll round metro Mnl at night time. You'll quickly gain knowledge of its a foul proposal to have agencies of young adults roaming the streets. The police at each massive town in Phil realize formative years gangs are a concern. Why is you you aren't getting it?

yes we have curfews and its up to each city to enforce. teenagers dont need freedom they need rules and boundaries.

the curfews here are to keep kids off the street and out of trouble.

the city i live in if your picked up your taken to juvenile hall for the night and then to school the next morning after school your free to go home. first offense second tme for escorted home by a cop from school 3rd offense your formally charged with breaking curfew with the intent to cause a disturbance, and you spend a minimum of 30 days in the detention center a prior record of any kind will make the penalty harsher

the curfews are to get people off the street and fewer crimes commited

I live in Richmond, VA, and kids under 18 aren't supposed to be on the street after 11 pm. Usually that refers to driving, but I when I was in high school I got hauled in a couple of times for walking after 11.

We don't have curfews in Australia (well, at least not where I live) and these 12-year-old guys in my class like walking around the streets at like 1am in the morning..................its so weird, and nobody says anything..............sometimes I think some people deserve curfews, LOL.

Yes we have curfews. Please don't think its as bad as it sounds. Basically it applies to underage kids (18 and younger). Its so they aren't running around doing bad things. There aren't curfews everywhere either. It depends on what town it is.

where are u from? im very curious. people dont have curfews...kids/teens get them by their parents when their parents dont want kids going out all night. if every facet of our lives had freedom, there would be chaos.
