President Bush's proposed missile defense shield in Europe?

Do you think that President Putin has a legitimate complaint against the prosposed missile defense shield or has other hidden motives for objecting to it(that he isn't revealing in public)?

Thank you in advance for your thoughts!

I think Putin is trying to establish Russia as one of the major players on the world scene again and is goading the USA. I think it is more bluster than anything else but he could be playing a dangerous game. Russia is not what it was and the USA will not allow it to recreate the cold war. The powers to be wary about in today's world are China and India. Perhaps Russia feels left out and is just playing the tough guy.

No, he does not have a legitimate complaint. The missile shield would actually be benificial to Russia. His hidden motives for his objections is that Iran has influenced him and become friends. Why do you think he is on a trip tomorrow to Iran. Putin is making a big mistake, and his days are numbered.

Putin is just playing domestic politics. He needs to stay popular so he can run things behind the scenes while his lackey is president and so he can again become president after his lackey's term is up. The Russians simply have too many missiles for the rogue shield to make a difference.

Yes...he is no longer a friend to the States. If Bush gets in a chess game with this guy...with the nukes...the Cold War is now an iceberg and the US is the Titanic with Bush at the helm.

I laugh when people ask if Russia is over blowing it.

If China placed missile interceptors in Canada to stop Mexican nuclear warheads, I wonder what the U.S. response would be?
