I know Indy is in that Div. And to go anywhere in the playoff you'll have to deal with New England too. But why does it seem like Jacksonville can win as long as they score 17 points? They remind me of the 2000 Ravens a good bit. Punishing runner(s). A Defense that doesn't allow anything. A quarterback just good enough to not lose the games for you. What do you guys think? One of the better AFC teams?

I agree totally Craig. It will be a tough task to take out Indy and New England. Anything can happen in the Playoffs though, and injuries are spontaneous. If you remember the 2000 Ravens, Trent Dilfer did just enough. Score 17, then unleash the Defense on them. I agree a wild card shot, and we'll see if they make something of that.

To martianroach:
Again, I agree. they need some wins. And in that AFC, 10 might not even be enough. A year or two ago, the Chiefs went 10-6 and missed even the wild card. I agree they'd have to do something spectacular, but i think we can all agree, they have the 'potential' if not the likelyhood.

maybe they can get in the playoffs but in the afc it is harder because there are so many good teams in the afc compared to the nfc. if jax wants to make the playoffs they probably need around ten wins.

I think they've got a shot at the playoffs, but I can't imagine them beating both the Colts and Patriots, which is what they'd likely need to do.

Their defense is pretty stubborn, and it's tough not to like that two-headed running attack with Taylor and Jones-Drew. However, I think that a team with a good secondary could load the box against them and force Garrard to try winning through the air, and I don't think he's capable of that. He's not a guy who makes a ton of mistakes, but he doesn't have great receivers and isn't a guy who's going to make great throws on the run.

I like watching the Jags, and I can see them in the playoffs this season. However, I think they're a clear step below both the Colts and Pats, and also behind Pittsburgh and San Diego.

I am a believer. I think they get a wild card, and in the playoffs anyone can beat anyone.

I believe that they have a slight chance of making the playoffs but not going anywhere.
