I am planning on going to see a concert at Hard Rock Live alone at night and will be w/o a car because I'm flying to Orlando for this. Is it worth the extra money to stay onsite for safety purposes and not have to get a cab afterwards? I know this hotel is pretty expensive, and I'm not rich or anything. Also, anyone know how close the hotel actually is to the concert venue there? Thanks!

The hotel is really close to the venue. Definitely a quick walk and you're there. I had a great experience at the hotel. It was nice and I had a good time but yes it is expensive. But I think if I was going by myself I would probably stay there because it is so close and I would be kind of worried about being alone. There are a couple of other hotels near there as well if you just look up Universal Orlando Resort and they might be slightly cheaper. But also whoever you're going to see will most likely stay at the Hard Rock Hotel. When I went to see Weezer there they stayed at the hotel and I got to see them. Hope this helps!

The Hotel is about a 10 minute walk to the Concert venue (all on property). There is a shuttle boat as well. By all means if it is just for one or two nights and you are alone, then stay on property and have a good time with no worries. The properties within a short cab ride will not be that much cheaper. A long cab ride and you've made up the difference.

You do not have to spend that kind of money at the HR Resort the Doubletree hotel is just off Universal Studios Florida and you can walk to Hard Rock Live which is located on the City-Walk. It's opretty safe and you don't need a car, they will even shuttle you the whole block and a half to get you to the ramp ways to CityWalk.

Have fun, be safe :)

It's pretty close. I think they have a boat that shuttles you across the lake right to City Walk where Hard Rock is. You can see the hotel from Hard Rock. I've always wanted to stay there. If you can afford it I say go for it. The concert will be funner if you know you have nice place to go relax after.
