I am a "Childfree" man (that means I don't want children).

I only date women that don't have children. I am over 40, and most of the women I date are older than me. I have never heard any of them mention starting menopause early.

There is an urban legend that a women will have an early menopause if she does not regularly receive sperm from a man (like if he had a vasectomy). It is just that, and urban legend.

Most things that people just blindly accept as truth. these days, is not true at all.

Not true. While it's true that menopause is associated with "no more ovulation", only a small fraction of oocytes are ever ovulated. When ovulation stops and menopause starts, it's not because we ran out of oocytes, it's because the oocytes have aged to where they no longer respond to the signals to grow and ovulate.

So, the fact that women don't ovulate during pregnancy does not "save up" oocytes that will delay menopause. Here's more info: http://www.hhmi.org/cgi-bin/askascientist/highlight.pl?kw=&file=answers%2Fgeneral%2Fans_038.html

I'm over 40 and don't have children and I've never heard this from any of my doctors. Does it matter? Menopause is coming eventually anyway, just like death.
