We live in the worst termite area of our city. We have already had severe damage from an infestation. Last week our termite company said they were switching from bait stations to Termidor poured around our home, and that they would "only" charge us $500 since we have had a contract with them for so long. Last month I and my husband both lost our jobs. $500 right now might just as well be 5 million. I have found Termidor online and we can do it ourselves. Have you done this? Successfully? As far as we know, we do not currently have any termites, and we know what to look for when we inspect our home.

You can't get the chemicals you need to kill termites. What to look for is something that looks like a mud tunnels under your house. They will be by foundation or supports. you have to look hard too. The other way to check is,take a small screwdriver and poke any wood close to the ground on your house. If you have termite damage the screwdriver will go in. But if you find damage they already have done their work.

The treatment of termites is a hard jod, and most of the work should be done by ground treatment. Termites live in the ground and only feed on lumber so the objective thing is to tret the ground with poisons and any wet or damp areas should be treated with lime to keep dry. Termites need a warm moist place to live with access to wood, so if you can poison the ground down about 6 feet and up while keeping dark and damp places near wood dry and baited you should have no problem. I would almost bet you had Orkin, I have an uncle that paid them for 15 years and still managed to loose half his house to termite damage while they said the same thing.
Best of luck!
