why doesn't he have any records to his name? Check this NFL passing records link:

You'll see Favre, Manning, Warner and even Rothelisberger and Bulger in the record books.... but no Brady, anywhere.

Realistically, isn't he just a competent QB who happens to be plugged into a great system with a talented coach (who has probably been feeding him inside info on the opposing defense for years) ?

Sometimes greatness is looked at as an OVERALL achievement.

Mario Andretti is one of the Greatest drivers of all time, but he has never won the Indy 500.

Now, ask YOURSELF this.... "What have I done?"

Kinda puts things into perspective, doesn't it.

Different offenses. Favre has been on a team that runs the west coast playbook, a lot of short passes/screens/slants. Warner and Bulger ran or run a single back offense a lot of the time. You can throw Manning in that.

Brady does what he's suppose to do and one of which is not turn the ball over. Rothelisberger is similar to Brady, in that he doesn't fumble, doesn't get sacked a lot, and doesn't throw continuous interceptions.

Try inputting Michael Vick (before the dog situation) or Rex Grossman into that offense. I bet they don't do half of what he does. He throws a good ball, puts his receivers in good situations to catch the ball, he doesn't lead them too far or leave them reaching for passes over the middle where safties can unleash the hit stick on them and he doesn't throw balls behind his receivers.

I mean of course you have to have a good team around you to be good or win the super bowl. Marino put up amazing numbers but never won a super bowl, ie no running game and no defense.

Brady in a way is like a Montana.

With that said, I can care less about the Pats and the Cowboys. But I do respect the Pats ability to give an *** pounding.

I typed a lot......I guess I'm really bored.

if it helps you sleep at night...keep believing that. A QBs job is not to make records...its to get these little Ws every week. Marino put up big numbers...and when it came to the all important one...he came up with a big ZERO. Guess what...most of Joe Montana's records have been broken, so does that mean he was a lousy QB. You must only know football from playing Fantasy football.

Ans if you actually watched the game...and saw the throws he made...you wouldn't have even wasted your time typing this question. I'm not a fan...but I know when someones been sipping the Hater-ade when I see it.

*BTW...for your info...he set one tonight...first QB ever to get 3 TDs a game in 6 consecutive games. Wanna make a bet he doesn't extend that to 7?

And while Manning was so busy trying to beat Steve Youngs records...Brady was only winning 3 SuperBowls...huh...which would you rather have? (Guess what....if you ask Favre, Warner, Bulger, etc...they will tell you that they would rather have 3 rings.)

You're kidding me right?

Tom Brady is a lot like Joe Montana. Montana didn't have all of the records like a Marino, and today a Peyton Manning. Sure Manning won a Super Bowl last year, but Brady has done it THREE TIMES!

After this season the way the Pat's are looking it will be four times.

What a horrible question, and statement.

And he still keeps that position over the likes of Favre, Manning, Warner, etc. . .

I'm not stating the guy is "the greatest", but let's give the guy a bit of credit. He's held onto his job for this long, and has a few more Superbowl rings than the others you have listed. If he was merely riding coat tails, I would think that they would have gone after a "better" QB by now, to insure a winning season.

who gives a sh1t about #s. the only # that matters is the # of rings he has. and yes brady has more than manning, roethlisberger, favre, warner, and marino. and by the way brady is in the record books as of today. he is the only QB to throw 3 TD in the first 6 games of the season. so yes brady is great and better than peyton. no i dont live in new england and im not a pats fan. im just telling the truth.

Oh cause I'd rather have Dan Marino on my team than Tom Brady. No, no, no. I'd much rather have Brady and the superbowl rings. Also, Favre had Shannon Sharpe, and has Donald Driver, Manning has Marvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne, Roethlisberger has Hines Ward, Bulger has Torry Holt. No offense to him, but Deion Branch is not in the same class as those guys. Randy Moss is the only legitamate top tier receiver Brady has ever had.

most of these records too r either long life-time achievements which obviously he's still working on or they're random ones too like most times being sacked or longest completions, etc.. but ya like another guy said its more of an overall thing, and additionally u can't argue thats he not gonna start breaking records and he wasnt having such awesome steve young, john montana, brett favre seasons before this year just good ones and it was hyped up so much cuz he was a no- name six years ago and has done a good job stepping in. But this year hes sure gonna break some records being that currently his touchdown to interception ratio is 21:2 (thats unheard of)

Well, if he keeps cruising this year, I think you'll start seeing his name in the record books. The thing with Brady is that he doesn't have the arm strength or accuracy of other QB's, but the guy is smart. He's very good at reading defenses. And yes, you are partly right also. I'm not comparing a monkey to Brady, but a monkey would do well in that system in New England.

I'm a Jets fan and I can't stand Tom Brady but I've always had respect for him( until he left his wife who was 7 months pregnant) but he has won 3 superbowls in the last 5 years. Not many quarterbacks do that, people consider Terry Bradshaw and Joe Montana two of the greatest quarterbacks of all time but I don't see there name on that list either except for Montana who I saw once.

If Peyton Manning is so great, why does he only have 1 Super Bowl ring?...*L*...and Tom Brady has the highest winning % in QB history...And, if he keeps all the TDs to Moss and Stallworth and Welker up, that little season TD pass record of Peyton's is going down this season...
