I would add to those already named
Elvin Bishop
Z Z Top's first 2 C D's I believe the 1st one is simply titled Z Z Top The 2nd is Rio Grande Mud. Their latest is a departure of sorts and I like it . It's called Mescalero.
Lone Justice has a southern diva with a tremendous voice, produced by Jimmy VanZandt, 2 cd's Iknow of the 2nd is called Shelter. I can't think of the first.

Well it's not old enough to be classic rock but Deliverance by Corrosion of Conformity is a great album that combines the southern rock sound with heavy metal.
