I've been going through one of the worst things in my life recently!! I was offered a job online that i thought was credible turns out i was being scammed.. (you know those scams where they send you money orders and you cash them and wire them some of it back?) I understand now why that was ridiculously stupid... i was arrested at my bank with my neighbors watching because they said i was trying to cash fake checks... is that FAIR??? i had to spend 2 nights in jail for being scammed? and i now have a record for FRAUD... the cops even said that i was a victim of a scam but now i have a record and i had to spend time in jail WTH??! can i fight this? can this really happen to a innocent person? I dont want a record i want to be a teacher in the future help me please.....

What did your lawyer say? You didn't plead guilty to fraud in court, did you?! Fraud requires the intention to commit a crime. If you were genuinely unaware that what you were doing was illegal, a decent lawyer should have been able to fight to get an acquittal.

You need to consult an attorney about this. You are one of many people who don't realize that this is a scam and not think the whole thing through before sending money out, and I am sure that you will not be the last either. If you only spent two days in jail I think you may not have a record necessarily since were you convicted of fraud you would be in jail for much longer. you may have to pay back the money you obtained but an attorney may even help you establish a payment plan with the bank that you can handle. when you get to be a teacher if the students are old enough to understand be sure to warn them about this scam. Good luck to you.

you can fight it if you want but truth be told your are guilty you were aiding in a fraud scam. That's where common sense comes in there are banks all over the country why would anyone need you to cash checks for them?

however it should get dropped to ? I forgot what they call it
it where yes you willing committed a crime but where unaware it was a crime However common sense should have told you it wasn't right

You WERE trying to cash fake checks - how are you innocent ?

IGNORANCE is no excuse - although it might count as extenuating circumstances during sentencing.
