18 year old -- no curfew, but they need to be considerate and keep me informed at all times of where they are and what their plans are.

16 year old -- 9 pm on school nights, 12 midnight on weekends. And I DON'T mean 12:01! It's easier in our state, because by state law, a 16 year old can't drive after midnight, so parties tend to break up earlier :-)

What are they doing?

Where are they going??

I see alot of 11:00pm s - what is open that late? They aren't eating dinner, or going to the mall...

I think the curfew should reflect not just their age but the child, weekend/weekday, and where they are going. Is it a party? A Concert? Why not set curfew based on where they are going also?

I am not saying this because I think it will stop them from having sex, they'll do that regardless of curfew if it is what they want to do. I just can't see why someone that young needs to be out so late, let's face it, the later it gets the more dangers there are. Later = more tired, less vigil driving for not only them but those around them, more drunks, more crime, etc...

10 pm seems reasonable for a 16 year old. 10:30 for 17, 11 for 18. If they are an adult, they can set their own curfew, in their own home. It isn't just about them. How does their late night affect the family/home?? Mom can't sleep til they are home? Little bro/sis gets woke up when they come in??? Or Neighbors woke by the dogs barking at their late arrival...

Well I may be 16 sorry but the weekdays curfew at my house is 1030 but i usually don't go out on weekends my curfew isnt really set as long as im home by 2 and have called 2-3 times Im okay because my uncle knows im doing nothing wrong with drugs, alchohol, etc But it dosen't matter about a curfew if your children are dating because they will find a way to do what they want If you understand what im saying you just have to trust their judgement and keep a good eye on them

When I was 16 my curfew was midnight. However, when I was 17 I moved out and supported myself with a full-time job (graduated highschool early) so I had no curfew- I did move back in with my parents a year later after my roommate went crazy and they always told me 1am; however, they didn't enforce it since I had already been living on my own.

my mom sets curfew depending on our age & how responsible we are....like for me and my brother & sister our curfew is at 11 pm on school & midnight on weekends & in the summer time & she started that when we were 14....if are going to break curfew then we have to call her or we get grounded & won't be allowed to go for a few nights & our curfew with be earlier until we prove ourselves responsible

10pm for 17 to 16, unless there is a really special occasion. 18 and over, no curfew, they are now adults. 8pm for under 16.
