lets say Hitler never had plans to eliminate the jewish race, and was not anymore a racist than anyone else. how would he have gone down in history? as a great leader? i know this a tough question, bc we know what hitler DID do, but lets imagine this theoretically.

i realize your points of view, but i dont think this is an insulting question. looking at a horrible person and considering a "what if" should be an acceptable thing to do when you are critically analyzing someone.

he probably wouldnt have become a leader or wouldnt have that many followers. most of the driving force and charisma behind his speeches that he told germans were about how the jews caused all of their problems. and german people liked hearing that at the time because they wanted a scapegoat like the jews to blame all their problems on

It's actually a very frightening question. The German Army had to maintain and equip special units called einsatsgruppen to murder by machine gun millions of Jews in Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Russia, the Ukraine and Belarus. The German Army suffered supply shortages because scarce rolling stock was used to transport Jews from France, Greece, Poland and everywhere in between to places like Auschwitz and Treblinka for slaughter. Allied generals in Moscow, London and the Pentagon saw the trains on air reconnaisance photos and were probably glad the Germans were busy waging war against the Jews at the expense of their fight against the Allies.
If Hitler were not busy killing Jews, he might have succeeded at killing western civilization. Otherwise, why didn't the Russians, Americans or British ever bomb the gas chambers at Auschwitz? They bombed the factories at Buchenwald adjacent to Auschwitz where munitions and other war related products were made with slave labor. Late in the war, Dresden was bombed though it had little military value. All the while, the gas chambers and ovens were churning away. Not even worth the time it would have taken to send a few B-24s and a few hundred 500 lb bombs?

if hitler had not been such a vile racist scumbag then he never would have come to power
but if he had risen to power in germany without being a vile racist scumbag he still would have gone down in history as a maniac because he tried to take over the entire world
starting with europe
now had he not tried to take over great britian then he might have been successful in just controlling mainland europe as he faced very little resistance there and only after he tried to enlist mexico to attack the U.S. did we get involved to shut his aspirations for world domination down

and please people don't be so sensitive, the question was purely hypothetical and not posed in a manner to be direspectful to the millions of people that hitler slaughtered
the worldwide jewish community suffered greatly at the hands of that monster but I do not believe attacking the OP will do anything to resove that (nothing ever will)

Hitler didn't just want to eliminate the Jews but everyone that was not Aryan, tall, blond and blue-eyed. But even if he wouldn't have had severe racial issues, he still was a megalomaniac, and things would not have been different, than they have been.

The simple premise of your question is highly insulting, especially for Jewish people. Let's look at another situation theoretically. Let's say someone raped your mother, and we knew that. Now let's image him only murdering your sister and your brother, would he be considered a hero? Get your history right idiot, Hitler was far more than a psychotic, sadistic anti-semite, he was also murdering, lying meglomaniac bent on world domination and destruction

Hitler's racial delusions defined his whole character. He would never had become the leader of Germany if he had not held them.
He would have ended up as a pot-bellied Austrian civil servant most likely.
Your question is non-answerable.
I don't wish to impugn your motives for asking it.
