Blu ray disks are great and a lot of blu ray players out there do upscaling so a regular DVD disk tends to look better on a blu ray player... so it all boils down to a tradeoff, but you are not wasting money if you happen to buy a regular DVD.

Really quickly, are we talking car speakers, stereo speakers, or computer speakers? For all three, you should be able to get a serviceable set for around $50 or so that will last a while because electronics prices are constantly going down.

Oh, what does it matter what they say in the papers, cuz its always been the same old scene. There's a new band in town but you can't get the sound from a story in a mgazine aimed at you average teen...

Why waste your money on a new set of speakers?
Answer: You are an audiofile such as myself. Music brings you more joy than anything else. Quite simple if you ask me.. (ps. Its not waste if you enjoy it. Life's short!)

If you want to listen to music through crappy speakers who am I to argue? For me I make the coin and I don't mind spending it on quality.

Because they burned in the fire. But I didn't start the fire. Why don't you ask the piano man, he might know who did.
