Mine constantly make jokes at his expense, laugh at him, comment on his weight, he is on steriods so he cant help being overweight, when I say that one of them will say "yah he is just big boned" and then they break into hysterical laughter at his expense.
He loves them though, and they love him, they just dont want to admit it. I named him Gizmo, he wont come to that name, so one day I was in the kitchen and said "you are such a Pig" and he came running, I thought "oh no" went into the LR and called "pig" and he came running - so its been "Pig" since then. NOT a great thing with his tendency to be overweight.
I have caught the kids measuring his butt !! He is a fat cat, I admit it, but he doesnt eat much --its those darn steroids, even the vet said so.

The pug you see in the picture is my only child. The grandkids love him almost as much as I do. Now I do have a nephew that lives below me that used to hide his toys and once cameup here and poured out his bubbles. I took the empty bottle and walked down to my brothers house and busted him, then he had to go buy a new bottle of bubbles.

Nope - my kids are worse than I am with their own pets! We are an animal loving family :-) Although once I bought my kitty a rattan and wicker 'house' and much later my daughter saw it at PetSmart and noticed the price and she was astounded I spent that much! lol [Yet, weekly she shops for toys for her kitty!]

No, my daughter loves my pets. She often buys them food, treats, toys and has even helped with medical bills when needed. She loves animals. She has my 3 grandcats and 2 granddogs, who I love also.

My Nan makes my pug fat if she looks him. So that I mind becuase he is pretty old and needs to not be fat. I think if it's not affecting the pets health, then it shouldn't be a problem. They do need hard and fast rules though. ie: they are either allowed on the couch or not, otherwise it is confusing for them
Other than her though I am the biggest culprit for spoiling "my baby"

My daughter jokingly says I love the pets more than her. I always tell her that's silly, but she sure gave me quite a few gray hairs during her teen years! At least the pets make my blood pressure go DOWN, not up! lol!

Definitely not, I treat the wife and kids like dogs and the dog don't seem to mind either.

Na, my kids grew up with Old English Sheepdogs, as did I. One of my early memories is of a huge hairy face shoving its way into my pram. lol.

I refer to my Zoey as the kids other sister and they do tend to say that byach is not MY sister. They are kind to her but don't want me to see them loving on her.
