do i need to register with the courthouse, can anyone lead me to a website that may cover this issue?

For the most part, I do not know of any state government that maintains a registry of ordination. It is generally believed that ordination is a matter of church sovereignty under the free exercise clause. As such, state agencies, including courts will generally not get involved in any dispute about the validity of an ordination. However, if you want an "official" record of your ordination, most county recorders will/must record any document presented to them in proper form. Just know that the record at the courthouse has no legal effect whatsoever.

No state license is required for ordained clergy in Iowa.

Ask the organization that ordained you what, if anything you need to do to establish your credentials.
