because we are always harder on and most critical of those we love the most :also because they know us so well, they are comfortable stepping on our toes whereas strangers know their boundaries and will back off before they overstep, usually. also because our parents will always tell us the truth whether we ask for it or want it or not... :)

There's a point when you just have to tell your parent "Hey, I'm an adult now. And if you want to have a relationship with me you WILL treat me with courtesy and respect. If you don't feel like you can do that, then the door is right over there".

I can do one better......I am 38 and my mom still ticks me off...I think it is just something I will have to get used to. Although, I did get her to back off a little when I asked her " So, how old were you when Grandma stopped treating you like a child?" She got the hint and we actually laugh about it sometimes now....

My mom is 70 and her mom was 91
sorry but no one can level you with a look but your mom
a son is a son til he takes a wife, a daughter's a daughter all of her life.
I'm well into my 30's and no one I mean NO ONE makes me feel like my mother does

They're still in mommy mode get use to it because it will last till they pass
Maybe it's just a bad habit of telling you what to do as if you didn't already know that
Just explain to her that She taught you well and you can handel it from here lol..

Yes, They don't really do it on purpose but are just trying to give us advice as how they see it. But it makes me feel like rebelling and not do what they say. lol Well they are right most of the time, i guess.

she will never change and you need to understand that
one day u will loose her and then you will miss her care and trust me u will
one of this days u will have your own kids and you may even do the same things your mother does, then u will understand her

No, sorry I don't. Anytime my mother starts to be over protective, I remind her that I am an adult and she backs off.

No matter how old you grow, you will always be her baby.
Be glad you have parents that care!
God Bless You.
