i keep getting little red ants and i'm not even keeping food out!

Nah! Really, you can make your own ant bait out of sugar water + insecticide (OR boric acid) in small doses. The ants won't detect a small dose of poison and will take the bait back to the nest to feed their queen and their young.
If, after 3 days or so they haven't disappeared, add just a drop more of the poison.
Place the bait on their trail and they'll swarm over it immediately.
Yea, Barb D. that's WAS Terro i was trying to think of, but it's a lot cheaper to make your own. @ $4 for .04 CENTS worth of sugar and 1/4 cent of insecticide (ANY kind you have on hand will do) it's a snap to make your own AND save $$$.

Terro ant killer.
Place a couple of drops on one inch squares of the card board that comes with Terro. Place them in places where little ones and pets can't get near them, but where the ants can. The ants eat it and die. Pick up the card board pieces once you see the dead ants, and replace with new card board pieces & new Terro drops. Do that for about a week. Your ant problem will be gone.

The best way is to get a professional exterminator. If your going to do it yourself. You must treat the entire house, not just where you see them. Once they are out of the house you must treat the outside house perimeter. Then you treat your yard working outward from the house. I suggest that you use a poison that kills the nest because in the house the nest will no doubt be inside the walls where you can't see it. Also use extreme cation with chemicals in the house, especially if you have small children or pets. If the problem gets to bad you are always welcome at my house.

SPRAY SPRAY SPRAY. Or what I did was put comet (cleaning substance) all along the walls. I was petsitting and when I was out at work some ants DEVOURED THE FROG UNTIL IT WAS DEAD. I was so upset about that. The owners didn't act upset but I don't talk to them anymore.
I am serious about this one so get some comet fast. It was an upsetting thing to have happen.

Set up traps that ants go inside and take poison. They bring it back into the colony, thus killing them. You can buy them at practically any store. Or call the exterminator, but the bill will be higher =\

Get ant traps! They work good but for a quick fix, spray them with Windex. They will die soon <3

Spray the area w/ the proper incesticide. If u wanna have a lil fun killing those mofos, either burn 'em w/ a magnifying glass on a clear morning/afternoon or pour hot water on them.

find out were they are come in and seal if off stop it at the point it enters. ant trap will work

Take a hand held magnifying glass and burn them all individually. Works best in sunlight.
