NOD32 has A Far Better Detection Capability Than AVG.
It Is Used By More IT Professionals. If Your Seeking For A Paid Protection Defintely get NOD32. But AVG Is Free And Its Has A Lower Detection Rate But Your Get What You Pay For. AVG Has A Simple Interface So Even Little Kids Can Scan For Viruses WHile NOD32 is More Complicated. Both Are Good, Both Are Not RAM Hogs Like McAfee And Norton.

Good Luck!

never heard of NOD32 but I've used AVG for almost a year now with no problems... I use Zone Alarm for my firewall (which is also free) and Spybot Search and Destroy and Adaware for my anit spyware, malware etc...

well it looks like NOD32 you have to pay for it and I've never been a big fan of paid software especially because I had Mcafee before I went to AVG and AVG picked up a virus that Mcafee didn't even know I had what a rip I pay for something and it doesn't even do it's job

I've had AVG since 2003 and have never had a problem with it. Not only is it the best I've had but its also free.

Eighty percent of new malware defeats antivirus

The most popular antivirus applications on the market are rendered useless by around 80 percent of new malware, according to AusCERT.

"At the point we see it as a CERT, which is very early on -- the most popular brands of antivirus on the market … have an 80 percent miss rate. That is not a detection rate that is a miss rate.

"So if you are running these pieces of software, eight out of 10 pieces of malicious code are going to get in," said Ingram.

Ingram, who refused to name any specific companies, was quick to point that this was due to cybercriminals designing their Trojans and viruses to bypass detection rather than a defective product.
