In Mexico they call themselves the United States of Mexico. My Social Studies teacher is giving extra credit to whomever comes up with another name for the United States.

There are many flaws with this country, but let me tell you that there are millions of people who would love to move to this country. Being a patriot, I can not even think of coming up with a another name for the United States of America.
Your teacher should have far more things to teach you, then coming up with an assignment to change the name of this country.

as a Mexican we have like three names... Mexico, Mexican Republic or Republica Mexicana, United States of Mexico or Estados Unidos Mexicanos... actually the country of the north took the name of America has itself... I dont know why US called itself America.. if America is a continent is not a country... but anyway I am an American too because I was born in the American Continent.. but first of all I am mexican too

The Democratic People's Republic of America.
Democracy means government by the people; a government in which the supreme power is vested in the people and exercised by them directly or indirectly through a system of representation usually involving periodically held free elections.
Republic means a government in which supreme power resides in a body of citizens entitled to vote and is exercised by elected officers and representatives responsible to them and governing according to law.
Sounds good, but North Korea is named the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. There is more to government than what is said in it's name.
