The labels on these new GE silicone caulks suggest that their mold fighting additives will reduce mold problems after installation. These tubes command a dollar or more higher price. How well do they work?

for one, mold will not stick to a true silicone caulk. and secondly, they seal very well and will not allow water to get behind anything where the caulk is. Beware, a lifetime warranty requires an empty of partial tube and a receipt to collect upon. Silicone has just a few places that you would want to use(tub, sink, etc.) Unless i had one of these situations, don't spend the money.

How much do you gain if the mold grows on the wood next to the caulk but not the caulk.
