How long does Fred Thompson plan to hide from the American public yet still consider himself a candidate?

Fred Thompson waited until the last moment to declare his campaign for the Republicans nomination for president so that he could build up his finances by accepting donations without having to declare them.

Now he is supposedly on the campaign trail, but he keeps a low profile.

All the American public really knows about him is that he's a mediocre actor whose daughter overdosed and then he married a woman younger than all of his children 6 months later.

He has flip-flopped on all the major issues for years and his lack of activity on the campaign trail keep his positions hidden from the American people.

How long does he think he can continue to hide from the American public and still be considered as an actual candidate?

Maybe his campaign is only being run to deflect attention away from the front runner on the republican side and Al Gore is being used by the democrats as a distraction from Hillary's. The media keeps focusing on those two instead of digging into Hillary Or Rudy.It cuts into the time that would have been spent by the media giving their competition air time.
