Range is highest number minus lowest number, so

21 - 7 = 14 is the range

The range is maximum - minimum.

You can arrange the given numbers in either ascending or descending sequence and figure out the range.
7,8,10,12,21 or 21,12,10,8,7
Either way,
Therefore, the range= 21-7=14

I would say the range is [7,21] where the square brackets indicate that the maximum and minimum are included.
in math, the range is the set of possible values and not the difference between the maximum and minimum as others have answered (even if that is what the word "range" might imply in normal english usage)
