In my opion Satan is real. though he was an angel , one of the most beautiful in fact. And he works in our life in many ways he offered Eve the fruit who gave it to adam. He tryed to tempt Jesus when he walked through the desert.

Satan is all around us he is evil. He is darkness and he is the punisher of the wrong doers.

The Devil is real but he is not an anti-god. He is a fallen angel with powers far superior to those of Man. Nowadays he would prefer that people believe he doesn't exist so that he can continue to bring chaos among us.

When the Devil fell from Grace he was not exiled into hell. He came to Earth and has been here since. He is not alone. His legion of fallen angels accompany him. They are called... Demons.

How do they work in our lives? For the most part they leave us to our own devices. If you like to drink, they let you drink. If you like to participate in drugs or other elicit activities they let you do so. If you like to gamble they let you gamble. They are deceptive using only as much truth as is necessary in order to completely deceive you. This is where spiritualists who summons spirits to give you answers come into play. Same thing with the quigi board. These devices are not to be trusted.

Thanks to Baptism (particularly infant Baptism) authentic cases of demonic possession are down. Baptism signs one over for Christ putting him/her out of the reach of demonic influences until achieving the age of accountability. Then the individual may forfeit his Salvation through determination (renouncing his Baptismal promises) or indifference or by actively seeking association with the dark side.

Hope that gave you the answer that you were looking for.

Best.

People have always been afraid of the dark and the things they cannot see or explain.

Plus the devil is what keeps the church in business while simultaneously acting as the scape goat for millions of people who make bad or dumb choices.

My answer is that the devil is not real

My answer is no. He is a mythical figure, but exists in a person's mind because of whatever he or she may believe.
I don't talk about Satan, Lucifer, Devil, or Old Hickory at all. But I know someplaces people do. I will agree that people can believe in something so strongly that it is real to them, but I would rather invest that effort into something positive instead of negative. I think people who refer to the devil are looking to blame unfortunate events on something. Just as they may thank God or Jesus or heaven whenever things go great. Does that make sense?
Good luck

yes in so far as it is a concept that is repeated thought about. and as as much as it has spread through the human psyche it is now more than just a concept. it has the power of a percieved reality by the majority of people. ( a single evil supreme being maybe different names but the concept holds) . As such it can influnce a person because they believe it is real. It is one of the joys of steping back away from what a culture / society teaches you and examine everything in life from only your own eyes and you'll see it can't exisit as anything but the force of the majoritys perception.

YAY long rant. that will make no sense to anyone.

if you get what i'm saying. take a bow.

Satan is really a Christian or later Jewish concept, in other mythologies the gods themselves have the duality of both the creative and destructive force.
The Christian idea is that you identify or follow either good or evil. It is a very black and white concept, the allowance for mistakes or deviation is only then considered in the form of sin or evil.

Satan, or the Devil lives in the hearts of Christians as he is their tool for proselytizing and a weapon of fear.

Christians and other religions talk about Satan and the Devil because they are wrapped so tightly in their cocoon of ignorance that they actually believe in his existence. Atheist talk about them to try and convince people what utter nonsense they are.

I personally don't think he's real, in the horned-and-tailed sense or any other incarnation. We talk about him because "we" consists mostly (in the US at least) of Christians who do believe in him.
