I think that this is related to all the cultures that are "alive" and have blood in their veins.
Lebanese pple as latin pple are so much impulsive, and passionate ones. In all the orders...in daily life...in their relationships, in the sports..in friendship, in love...
All the persons around me do it..it is something normal here, the body language is so much natural. May be it can be bcoz most of the pple here have mediterranean ancestors.
About to talk fast........everybody do it in the mother tongue..
havent you heard yourself when talk to us???
OMG...you seem to be a machine gun of words !!!!!!!!!
I do the same also in my own lang....BTW...i dunno , but has it something to be that i had a lebanese father too?

Really? Well, I don't know about the talking fast bit, but using hands and facial expression? I do that (especially facial expression). I think because of my dad's lack of hearing...I made up for what he couldn't hear with visual aids...lol

we can read fast too... is it cultural? i don't think so... I think it's cause of the desire of wanting stuff to happen fast... we want things and we can't have them fast.. we have to wait and wait and wait... we also rush things to gain time... we have peace in our lives.. but we feel that time passes fast.. we have to use it every way we can.. yet we know we can not do that.. so talking fast is part of our habits.. we talk fast.. type fast.. we wish ppl would understand us fast instead of repeating the same thing over and over again.. that's just boring.. FAST!!! can't they just get it!!

Lebanon's my second home - and I'm happy to say I'm an adopted Lebanese. They are very animated in talk and it kind of enlivens me in discussions.
