In the 40's and 50's one could buy a house for $7,000. ( I know because my parents did). If you spent $25 in a store you would come out with 2 grocery baskets full to over flowing. Gas was about $.15-$0.21 a gal.. So what could you buy with $10? a lot more then you could carry home. When I was a kid I would take 25 cents and come home with a bag of candy, Most of which was 4-5 for a penny. Times have changed!
