Nuclear power is the cleanest power on earth. Even France uses it.

In the 1990's, the same liberal politicians that wanted the Kyoto Treaty had been blocking nuclear power even when nuclear power is cleanest form of energy around. Former Vice President Gore showed to America he was trying to destroy America's nuclear power industry. And in committees, Gore and his buddies quickly rejected scientists' ideas of using nuclear energy to fight CO2 emissions. Now (ten to fifteen years later), many of those same global warming proponents now want to use nuclear energy to reduce CO2 emissions. Those global warming proponents don't stop to think that America could be building new nuclear reactors right now if they never opened their mouths. They caused a 20 year delay.

Burning coal and natural gas releases far more radiation in the the environment.

"Based on the predicted combustion of 2516 million tons of coal in the United States and 12,580 million tons worldwide during the year 2040, cumulative releases for the 100 years of coal combustion following 1937 are predicted to be:
U.S. release (from combustion of 111,716 million tons):
Uranium: 145,230 tons (containing 1031 tons of uranium-235)
Thorium: 357,491 tons "

Democrats were against recycling nuclear waste.

Liberals were the ones against breeder reactors. They wanted to kill the program.

"Breeder Reactor Termination Act of 1993 (Introduced in House)....To terminate the Department of Energy's program to promote the use of liquid metal reactors for the disposal of high-level radioactive waste. IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES June 9, 1993
Mr. COPPERSMITH (for himself, Mr. KLEIN, and Mr. HOKE) introduced the following bill; which was referred jointly to the Committees on Science and Technology, Natural Resources, and Energy and Commerce"

Because the company Gore started to sell and trade carbon credits, wouldn't make any money off of Nuclear power.

Did they ever think, if they hadn't stopped production of nuclear power plants, all those fossil fuel power plants that are the leading cause of green house gas's, would have never been built in the first place.

So they same people, who are talking about global warming today, are the ones who caused it !!!!!

Nuclear power isn't clean at all. The miners who dig up the uranium have very high cancer rates. The ground they dig it out of and the water polluted by the mine waste are unusable forever. The enrichment plants where the fuel is processed have a history of thousands of documented radiation leaks, not to mention the tons of fissionable material that they can't account for. The material must crisscross the nation and the world in trucks, ships and trains, all of which have accidents. The reactors themselves have abominable safety records. There was a massive accident just recently in Japan. The waste products must be securely stored for hundreds of thousands of years. We can't make a flashlight last overnight. Tell the people of Chernobyl that nuclear power is clean. Al Gore's been there, and he knows better.

Ever since the cold war Americans were against nuclear power. People are starting to look at it in a different way now.

As for Gore I have no idea or even care. I am not for Democrats but believe there is global warming.

Bush do not discriminate Muslims to be condemn. In fact, EVERYONE regardless of race and religion is condemned. Think of Chavez, you'll know what I mean. As with the other user before me had said... who cares anyway? He's also in the line of pensioner soon... As with the issue of nuclear powerplant, its really up to the government to decide (which I see is quite a possibility someday, who knows?)... The Malaysian government is always up to something 'funny' from time to time...

And what does France do with their nuclear waste? Heck, nobody needs nuclear weapons. All they have to do is hit the waste sites. Of course all the means you mention are polluters. But until we can create nuclear energy without nuclear waste, the other alternatives are the ones to research, to choose the best ones to enact. Wait. I see one of your answers says France recycles their waste. I better bone up on that.

Big Gore profited from exploiting petroleum and now Little Gore wishes to do the same; except LG's plan is to money-grub on the back end of the oil industry through those marvelous carbon credits.

Al Gore owns stock in Armand Hammer. He also owns stock in the oil reserves in the Ca. hills. Oil fired power plants do not hurt his dividends

Simple he is making money on carbon credits.
If we built nuclear power plants he couldn't afford to fly around in his private jets and have a home that is 5 times what he needs.
