Ok. I went to apply for a new job. My background check came back that there was a warrant out for my arrest. I have some unpaid tickets. Where would I begin to get this taken care of without really turning myself in? I want to resolve this but jail time is not an option. Anybody out there know where I should start?
I need some advice please.

Just go down to the cashier's office in the juristriction where the tickest where issued and pay. You could also have a friend do it for you. Your warrent will be lifted. End of story.

It it is just unpaid tickets -- contact the court, and find out the total amount due -- and pay that, along with any late penalties That should clear the warrant as well.

Generally, the bench warrant is only to ensure that you are brought before the court to deal with the tickets -- rarely is jail a possibility, if it's really just unpaid tickets.

You can also get an attorney to help you by acting as a liason with the court, gathering the information, and negotiating a plea solution. I am licensed to practice law in California, so feel free to write me privately if you want more information about this last option.

Your location has NOTHING to do with the answer to your question. You MUST turn yourself in to address the issue. If you find out the amount of the tickets and show up at the court clerk's office prepared to PAY them, there is a 99% chance you will NOT be arrested.

If you pay those tickets off before they go to warrant you can prevent jail time, however if they have already gone to warrant then you will surely go to jail, for a short time, if stopped by a police officer.
