I find it odd that you are anti-choice but pro-gay--or at least pro-gay marriage. Many folks in the gay rights movement are pro-choice and vice versa. And many of the most virulent antichoice activists are also homophobic. I do hope that you support contraception, which prevents unwanted pregnancies, ergo fewer abortions. This is what the pro-choice movement is about.
You're a moderate. Until a few years ago, I'd say you were pretty close to Kucinich. A few years ago, he was quite progressive on everything but the reproductive rights issue; he was antichoice until some pro-choice activists talked to him, and he evidently thought it over and changed his stance. I don't know his view on prostitution, but I do believe he is against the drug war. And he believes gay marriage is a civil rights issue.
But he is pro-choice, and I have not heard that he opposes stem cell research. And I'm pretty sure he wouldn't cut taxes, as you have to pay for our military, our interstate highway system, our infrastructure, etc., SOMEHOW.
I will ignore your silly comments about how you think gay couples live. If you're going to support their right to marry the person they love, do it for the right reasons.

I consider myself a conservative too but always ended up voting for democrats
I am sometimes pro life, support some affermative action & stem cell research, tax cut supporting Exxon ($100 billion).
But I don't support gay marriage because I don't think it's the governments business to run our culture. Morals drive our culture and our children's future.
Thanks to the real Christian people like me the US were born with morals and gain respect around the world until Bush came into power

I'm a conservative too, and to my friends, who are mostly conservative, I'm considered pretty far right.
I have a similar view of Gay's rights. However, I support civil unions. You see, for me, marriage is a religious function, not a civil function. I believe you're state marriage certificate is secondary to the vows you take before God. Now, the Bible does teach us that homosexuality is a sin. Therefore I can not support taking vows before God in a manner which He clearly states is not acceptable.
HOWEVER, let me say this. I AM A SINNER. A BIG SINNER. We all are. So, who the hell am I to judge you or anyone else for the sins you commit? Nobody, that's who. So I do fully support civil unions. A gay couple should be given all of the same rights, privilages, protections and responsibilities (not to mention headaches!!) as a straight couple. Plain and simple. To say otherwise goes directly against our Constitution and the basic principle of Human Rights.
Now, I feel that prostitution is a blight on this world. I feel that way for one simple fact. If those women could be anything in the world, anything at all, not ONE of them would have chosen to be a prostitute. And, if one would, they have psychological issues and are uncapable of making those kinds of decisions.
Drugs, I say legalize the mild, natural stuff. Tax the living hell out of it, and put that money back into the fight against the hard stuff (among other things). Drug users pay to defeat drugs. Perfect.
Good question!!

A lot of conservatives are having this problem. I myself am pro choice pro stem cell and pro gay maraige why shouldnt they be as miserable as the rest of us (just kidding) And the conservative religous thing annoys me. We can be conservative politically without being born again evangelicals.
My advice is not to label yourself as anything but research each candidate with an open mind and vote for the one you feel will do the best job no matter what party they belong to or whether or not they are percieved as liberal or conservative.

I hear some conflicting aspects of your views...
You say you are pro life (for the enforcement of morals).
You say you support gay marriage because it is not the governments business (against the enforcement of morals).
Maybe you should look more into the root causes involved with abortions that way you are fixing a problem as opposed to putting a bandage on it. The majority of abortions occur in the high poverty portions of the population. Helping to reduce poverty and increasing education will in-turn help to reduce abortions.

nicely there are different dimensions besides liberal and conservative. For one, there is the "populist" ideology. while you're a populist, you're uninterested with CEO's and billionaires taking benefit of the working type, underpaying workers, performing wrecklessly, trashing the financial gadget, and so on. there is likewise a libertarian ideology. Libertarian ideology potential you're uninterested with government interfering in human beings's lives and sense Marijuana could be criminal, yelling in public should not be a "disorderly habit crime", and so on. it is likewise accessible to combine diverse philosophies. as an occasion this is accessible to be a ideal-leaning populist, or a libertarian liberal, as an occasion. additionally undergo in innovations that no longer each and every thing is cut back and dry liberal or conservative. a guy or woman could be frequently liberal and area with the ideal on some matters, or vice versa. That basically makes them a "reasonable". You did no longer rather supply specifics approximately what your ideals are yet according to danger this suggestions might actually assist you're making greater sense of it.

To be a conservative does not require you to agree with everything that conservatives stand for. That's being an American and having your own mind. You are what is called a moderate conservative. You are just to the right of center. In my view that is the most balanced point to be in.

You sir are a Libertarian. You believe in a small fiscally disciplined government, and the freedom of Americans to make their own choices. That's what a Libertarian is.
A better piece of advice though is to be yourself and to support the policies that are morally upright and beneficial to our great nation. Uphold the Constitution and don't worry about the labels that anybody (including myself) tries to place on you.
The most honorable title a citizen can earn is not Liberal or Conservative it is PATRIOT.

Just to address one of your statements. As a 30 year veteran of law enforcement it is a large misconception to think that the legalization of drugs would stop the criminal trade in it. If the Government regulates the price there will always be someone that will sell it cheaper. It will always be a criminal enterprise. Legalization will not stop it. As long as there is a demand for it the crooks will have their hand in it.
